Re: How does the PCM know the engine vin?
My best guess is when the engine was replaced, the PCM still had the looser tolerance software. The recent update tolerance was tighter, hence the no-start. The vehicle did drive in. There is no way for the PCM to know if an engine has be changed in the past. Login to read more. ![]()
