Back when I worked at the Chevy dealer, I "borrowed" a warranty return distributor.

Gutted the sucker, ground off the teeth, ground 3 flats on the shaft to fit a 1/2 drill and tack welded a washer to hold the shaft in. The important part was placing the tack... Login to read more.
