2014 Ram 1500 Laramie, Engine/Propulsion Photo
Tonewheels with missing pieces of the magnet will still allow the engine to crank over and you may also read a valid RPM signal in the PCM data. However, due to the gap, the ECM is unable to determine Cam/Crank synch and will not start.
