From 2nd to 3rd gear SL2 soln turns off and SL1 turns back on. According to the clutch and band application chart the direct clutch turns on and the B1 cluth turns off from 2nd to 3rd. I believe SL1 controls the B1 clutch and the SL2 controls the direct clut...
