1999 Mazda Protege, Engine/Propulsion waveform
Cam signal (upper) has a glitch created by tapping near the cam sensor with a plastic hammer. This will cause the engine to stall. This is completely normal. I've tried the same test on several Mazda 1.8L Proteges.
