2001 Audi A4 Quattro, Engine/Propulsion Photo
When front exhaust cam bearing failed, the localized overheating of the metal extended into the cam sprocket. The formed/molded key on cam sprocket failed/sheared away, integrity of the overall cylinder compression/valve timing was comprimised in an instant.
