After removal of trans, I found that the following parts were all bad and needed to be replaced. Second gear drum, reverse drum, both drive gears and chain, pump, and pump shaft, Second gear clutch pack and TCC. Thank you to all that offer help

thanks to all who replied. I chamfered the brake shoes and machined the drums. the brakes are now perfect. I knew it was likely a simple fix but like I said no one ever wanted the problem fixed before. thanks again.
