| 1999 Volkswagen Passat GLS 1.8L Timing Belt VIN: WVWMA63B5X It seems the Gates belt was a little thicker than the factory belt. I put on a VW belt and the tension is what I expect with the hydraulic tensioner and no more noise. Have used a lot of Gates belts with no issues but I guess no more on this engine. |
