| 1994 Ford Explorer Eddie Bauer 4.0L Instrument Cluster VIN: 1FMDU34X7R Removed the 20A maxi fuse for the electronic shift control and problem was resolved. I guess having the vehicle retrofitted with a manual transmission caused the problem. Thanks everyone for your input to such an odd ball. |

Apparently this engine uses the spring loaded, oil pressure assisted type tensioner, not the ratcheting type. I'm guessing that for whatever reason the spring tension on these aftermarket tensioners is not as good... |
