| 2000 Ford Mustang 3.8L tapping noise VIN: 1FAFP4048Y Thank you to all who helped with this one. The noise sounded just like a lifter tapping noise but was indeed the rod bearings. Upon removal of the oil pan and bearing caps, I found 4 of the 6 damaged but not spun. Replacing the bearings took care of the noise.... |
