Replies pretty much unanimous (sp?)..needs an airbag. As many stated, the problem is usually more pronounced on the lower ride height sellings. Also, arnottindustries.com is a better source than the dealer for the parts. Thanks to all.

Thanks for all the help you guys. This problem was just one more reason to ALWAYS use original parts. Swapped out the aftermarket expansion valve for a genuine VW one and problem gone. Thanks everyone for the help everyone.

This vehicle appears to finally be fixed. It's been gone for almost 2 weeks with no call yet.
