2004 Ford F-150 FX4 5.4L Misfire, MIL Lamp on VIN: 1FTPW14524
Vehicle came in for mil, misfire occurs in cylinder 7, changed all plugs, have spent many hours, two Ford Dealers looked at it, they could not find problem, one dealer said #7 rod bent (makes no sense) we checked that, pulled valve cover, checked lifters, cam,... Trouble codes: P0307, P0316 (misfire occurs first 1000 rpm)

I changed out the lifters and had 13 bad ones, i have ran the vehicle for 2 weeks and there is a small rattle in the mornings, I think i am going to try some sort of engine oil system cleaner in it and see if that will help. Thanks for the input Judd

I'm going to call this vehicle fixed, although I had it fixed once before. I guess time will tell. The fix was another coil. I ran the flow chart for P0356 and on the third step it had me test the coil with a spark tester. Guess what? No spark. So I pulled out... Trouble codes: P0356 (Ignition coil pri/sec circuit failure).
