Thanks for all the replies. It was the fuel pump. I went back to the shop, tested the pink with black strip wire for power with test light at the pump terminal. comes on when key first turned on, then goes out, just like regular gas rig. when you crank it, it ... Trouble codes: P0232 (fuel pump circuit).

we replaced the high pressure oil lines and fittings and seals. checked ipr and icp pids with scan tool to ensure pressures are with in spec...all looks ok, still somewhat unsure about why line blew...possibly due to heat build up in the confined engine space ...

I would like to thank everybody that sent in replies to my request. But I was not able to get this truck back into my shop to see if any of the ideas would work. So I will close this one out without any repairs.
