The culprit turned out to be the crank angle sensor, it didn't appear to be damaged in the installation of the engine but I decided to try it anyway and thank goodness it fixed all the symptoms. thanx again ... |

1998 Dodge Ram 1500 Laramie 5.2L No Start, Stall, Has codes no mil VIN: 3B7HC12Y7W This vehicle ended up needing a new PCM. We never were able to see the 5 volts drop from the computer using a lab scope. We had all 5 volt sensors unplugged and the PCM would still set the same codes for Primary and Secindary 5 V. We even removed both 5 V wire... Trouble codes: P1496 (5 Volt power supply output too low. Chryl hex code 92), P1488 (Auxiliary 5 Volt supply output too low. Chrysl hex code b9). |
