| 2001 Ford Explorer Sport 4.0L Poor Idle Quality, Surge, Stall, COLD ONLY. BELOW 70 VIN: 1FMYU60E11 Thanks to all replied. We apparently got old gaskets when we did the timing chains. These were green nitrile. The new ones were black(lower) and orange (upper) . This condition was near impossible to test with a smoke machine. No smoke = no leak, right? Not so...
