1997 Ford Ranger XLT 4.0L Excessive Emissions, Poor Idle Quality, Stall, Misfire, Long Cranking
Posted to Ford Driveability on 12/4/2007 20 Replies

This ranger p/u has a hard time starting. When it starts constant black smoke.. Fuel pump and pressure are within specs. Ignition is fine. Runs very rich (when it runs) Could it be the pressure regulator? Any suggestions are appreciated..
