changing filters on a/c repairs
Posted to HVAC Forum on 7/9/2014 2 Replies

Filters need to be added every time you flush or replace a components.

Karl Matis recent post "honda condensers" was very accurate.

However, any time you work on air-conditioning system you need to protect the system from dirt that can be trapped in the system.

As a supplier to most OE manufacturers I have learned that they do not spend a penny unless it saves them more warranty dollars than they spend.

That's why a suction filter is added in many cases, because of the shrapnel that is blown into suction side when pressure is equalized. This backward pressure will also l blow shrapnel back into the new compressor.

A couple of pennies spent will save you large dollars on your next air-conditioning repair.
