Compressor inoperative
Posted to HVAC Forum on 7/23/2013 1 Reply

Complaint was A/C not working. Went to another shop and repair said no power to compressor. Initial tests fuses good, sufficient freon for compressor to come on, relay power feed ok, no ground input being applied. I left A/C on and ran KOEO test. Came back A/C on during test. I could short relay and compressor worked fine, system pressures good. Verus did not give much useful info on HVAC. On engine side there was a P0352 code, issue with circuit on #2 coil. Power to coil, swapped coils no difference, no spark from spark tester on #2. Would fire spark plug if plug was out of cylinder. Lab scope revealed lousy coil pattern. My guess was a driver issue in the PCM, but was that causing my A/C not to work?. Installed new computer, misfire gone, A/C compressor works fine. never seen that before, Interesting that the misfire would shut down A/C.
