I have used Makita's for over 25 years starting with the
9.6V. never had an issue. IMO Makita Had for years stayed
under the radar due to lack of advertising. Also some due to
the prime price. I have used the 14.2 1/4 inch impact out
fitting plumbing box vans screwing together metal shelving
with self drilling screws. Many times the reason that I
would have to put the Makita down was because it got too hot
to hold (I don't wear gloves) give the impact a 1/2 hour
rest and my hand also and back to the races. Also used the
impact (once I broke the lug nuts loose) to run the nuts off
those long a*s studs with adapters to the lug nut impact
socket. Off the 3/4 & 1 ton vans. On service calls. I
also recently purchased a Makita saws all 18v to use on
branches of Mesquite trees. No problem cutting those hard
wood branches. IMO someone can't miss spending the higher
price that Makita's bring over the cheaper battery powered
tools available.
