I thought J2534 was/is the SAE standard for control module programming, and that the ISO 22900 PDU API pertains to scan tools, but I have been wrong before...

GM supports their software when used with their hardware on a PC that meets their specs. Drewtech supports GM software when used with Drewtech hardware.

It is my (perhaps incorrect) understanding that Bosch supports GM software when used with the Bosch Mastertech VCI:

If Bosch doesn't support the use of the VCM II with GM software, then what happens when an end-user has a problem or issue? IMHO, the value is in support. If you don't have any issues, you likely won't need support, but good, timely, accurate support is priceless if/when an issue arises.
