For the money, go vag com. I have both SO & vag and use the vag a lot more. It does pretty much very module ( srs, comfort, sun roof ect..) it does coding, most adaptations, initilizations. It does SOME immob and key programming. It will do all key programming if you have access to the pin#.

I purchased the tech support and have used it a few times. It is def worth it. For the price of the support, you can nor beat it. Code a few modules with Ross tech support and it pays for itself.

My understanding is SO euro has different setting (advanced/basic) within its vw module. I personally have never used it being I have the vag com so I can't comment on it. But $900 is way too much for you just needing vw. I also feel its too much for what you get with it ( the "euro coverage/ lacking coverage" Jmo.
