Kevin: We have used CDX in our classroom for over 8 years,
mostly for the video content - which, by the way, is
excellent. We spent a great deal of money (over $10K) for a
"perpetual license" for the product in 2007. We were led to
believe that that "perpetual" meant in perpetuity, or pretty
much forever. I have a copy of the contract. What in fact
that meant, is that as long as we used Windows XP, we could
use the product. As soon as our school had to upgrade
operating systems, the product no longer worked and CDX
would no longer support the "perpetual Contract". CDX's
response was simply, "too bad. As long as you use Windows
XP, you can use the product perpetually. You will now have
to re-purchase the product if you want to use Windows 7, 8
or 10." No offers, no apologies, no consideration, nothing.
I guess you can probably figure by now that we will no
longer purchase anything from CDX in the future.
