I'll admit it's a hard sell when focused on compensation, but cars are just too cool, and too much fun to work on! For me,it wasn't about the money, it was the satisfaction of doing something I loved.

I agree that wages need to be much higher for the level of requirements on our technicians today. I tell my students to make themselves valuable to their employer through certification, cross training, and level of dedication in the workplace. It's true for every workplace, and the money will follow.
