Recruitment

I am having a nightmare trying to recruit the right calibre of technician for my garage.

But this leaves me still desperate for a technician. I was originally looking for a 'top tech' who could run with all the drivability, network, CRD - 'harder stuff' but after a year and a half of no result I have eased up on my requirements yet still only seem to get numpties and wannabees applying.

I have tried Local Press, Job-sites, Forums, word of mouth, incentives to delivery drivers, Snap-on man - to suggest leads for head hunting.

Being on the Isle of Wight shrinks the gene-pool a bit (yeah in all senses) but there are about 70 garages of all sizes on the Island.

Really just looking for any advice on how to recruit successfully.

Thanks in advance...

Oh yeah and the job/lifestyle is still vacant

I am looking for a experienced technician with great diagnostic skills to work in our modern workshop. We are a forward thinking, multi-skilled well equipped team who are constantly busy.

The job will mean relocating to the West Coast of the Isle of Wight, UK where the lifestyle is laid back and people have got the time of day for each other.

All 5 staff live only 5 minutes from a beach and work, all our kids walk to school and there is very little crime.

I rarely see more than 10 cars on my way to work, I have a tech'd up wifi workshop which the sun shines in to all day. (even when its raining) You can go surfing/mountain biking or the pub on the beach, straight from work. There's run what ya brung car racing in a field for £12 on a Sunday and the infamous Military Road which is a Sunday Morning race-track.

This is a long-term commitment with ongoing training as required.

An excellent salary great work environment and help relocating/migrating is offered.

google the Isle of Wight/West Wight to see more of where...

PM me if you're fed up with the rat-race, are interested in a new lifestyle and love cars..
