f150 3v 5.4 chain hitting tone ring
I have a 2006 f150 5.4 3v and it had a slight ticking noise when it gets warm. I tore it down and put all new lifters, timing chain set (chains, tensioners, and guides), and new phasers. After it has been put back together the ticking noise went away. It was never missing before and it is still not missing now. It runs very smooth with no problems at all besides when I accelerate while driving, I can hear the can rubbing something. If the truck is in park or neutral, I can rev it up to like 4,500 rpm and it never makes a noise. The oil pressure gauge stays above normal and never drops. I tore it back down and seen that the chain is rubbing the crank trigger tone ring. I have checked and checked and checked some more to make sure everything I have done is correct. I even went to the ford dealer and had them print me off a diagram showing me that I have everything on the right way. Now sprockets flipped around or anything. So I went ahead and put another set of tensioners in it and still having same problem. Someone please help. Thanks.
