Hi, Gary
Thank you for responding! It's an honor to hear from you.
The reason that I need closed loop on this beast is because
it's idling too lean (high HC) and part-throttling too rich
(high CO), and cannot pass a CA TSI test like that.
I drove the s**t out of it today, over 40 miles, and when I
came back, it still had BLM and Integrator stuck at 128. The
only PID that didn't seem correct was P/N always false. I
traced that to a loose connection at the top of the steering
column near the brake pedal, but fixing it had no effect ...
still open loop, at ANY rpm. The O2 sensor seems quite
responsive, because I can get lots of crosscounts by pumping
the throttle. The PCM seems to have simply chosen to ignore
them, without coding ANYTHING.
It's 4th and long, guys, and I'm ready to call out the
punting team!
Sincerely,
Michael Barry Technician Quick Stop Smog & More Sacramento, California, USA
