Jaguar Vibration
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 9/28/2012 3 Replies

I'm working on a jaguar x-type and the complaint is vibration that might described by high end European car owners as an unrefined ride. I started off by test driving vehicle and found it drives similar to my unrefined ford taurus so I would say that I may have verified the concern. The next thing I did was consult Alldata and came across a TSB number jtb00010. In the tsb it talks about problems with having a more refined ride so I'm guessing I'm on the right track. So I removed the wheels and located all the yellow dots facing down with the vehicle on the lift just like the TSB says. I tightened the wheels by hand and torqued them down to spec like the TSB says. Then drove the vehicle. For the first Mile or so until I took a corner I would say the ride was definitely more refined like the TSB says. But then it started feeling like When I first drove it. So I brought it back in and checked it and none of the dots pointed down any more. I think I did something wrong. We've tried this several times and got the same result.
