Hello HD fans,
Working on 2005 Sterling Acterra with Cat C7, KAL42252
Truck was towed in after just died while on freeway. Strong
crank but no start. Getting good fuel & oil pressure from
HEUI pump per scan data. Only thing we noticed was injector
keep clicking while key on. Replaced timing sensors, solved
the injector clicking sounds. But still no start. Got all
active injector open codes through Cat ET, replaced HEUI
pump based on diagnostic tree. Engine started and ran good
for about 2 minutes before engine stalled out and will not
restart. Replaced the Injector Actuation Pressure sensor
this morning, still will not start.
Throughout all these part replacements, I was able to run
Cat ET "injector actuation pressure" test and able to start
& idle the engine. As soon as you "stop" the test, the
engine will just shut off. At this point, I am focusing on
the injector drive computer. Any thought?
