Hey Jamey,
Speaking of smarter, not harder, what do you think of this
one?
'95 Caddy, won't turn off the SES light until 'idle relearn'
is completed.
AllData gives me a nice procedure, all spelled out, BUT ...
the A/C must be active during several parts of the
procedure, and this A/C is inoperative, from a refrigerant
temperature sensor code.
Sensor is open ckt, but a brief half-twist revealed that
it's in the refrigerant stream, and the refrigerant is
severely contaminated with dye and sealant!
Advised customer that we can't clear the light until he
finds someone willing to risk their equipment dealing with
the A/C mess!
Much bitching and yelling ensued. After all "all he need is
a mother f*****g smog!".
