You're a good man , Tony - Got a puzzle for you - Short story , friends south of here , little town , lost their dog , old age , he was an American Cocker Spaniel , they decided to get a dog from a shelter in London , west of here , they get this beaten up little dog , that was picked up off the streets , in severe cold weather , by the local animal shelter .They brought him home ,started getting him back in shape ,took him to the local vet there , got his shots and stuff updated .Enter the puzzle part of the story . The vet called back , said the dog had a microchip in its ear , would they come in to the vet's office . It turned out the little dog came from another province , Quebec , he had the owner's name , address , postal code ,and phone number on the chip . The people I know there made the call , knowing they had paid large , for the little guy , and they might have to give him back . The answer they got ? The people who answered , it took a minute to find somebody who spoke English , said they never owned such a dog , it wasn't theirs , and they had no idea what he was talking about , and yes , he had the right phone number . Who the h**l could be that cruel to a little dog like that , Tony ? That surprised me , when they told me what happened .
