If you're looking for something written "by" someone, then it's recommended that you use the following term:

by randy bernklau

As you begin to type "by randy..." (without quotes) you'll see a short list of authors/members. Selecting one will instantly produce a result set for everything that person has written and posted to iATN. Then you can type in an additional keyword like "Hc" (again without quotes) and after hitting enter, you'll see corresponding result set like this: http://iatn.me/7o8 [iatn.me]

Anyhow, I found it easier to record a short video demonstrating this and how you might want to choose other options like hiding replies, grouping result by tags etc. Here's the short video demonstrating the above:
