OK kiddies, some food for thought- 2 scenarios come to mind. Todays gas has a shelf life of about 1 month before it breaks down, loses its combustability, absorbs moisture, starts rusting gas tanks, gums-up fuel injectors, I have recently seen on a piece of personal power equipment the effects of 1 1/2 month old fuel that actually locked the needle valve solidly shut and actually corroded the carb to the point it would not even run.... The other involves the addition of Electric/hybrid vehicles, being advertised as not needing gas for a month or more. So what maintenance opportunities do you suppose we will be running into now? a 2 year old vehicle that needs a complete fuel system-that cannot be warranty-able??? THANKS BIG BROTHER, I cannot get fuel that will get my 68 GTO or 87 Fiero to run worth a crap, but at least I'm making a living cleaning your crud out. never thought fixing cars meant was gonna be maid!!!
