Handy Electrical diagnostic tool
Posted to the Waveform Library on 8/6/2012

Handy "home-made" electrical diagnostic tool is made from a common #194 bulb pigtail and some pins from a wiring harness. These can be made to fit different types of connectors by fitting them with different pins. I have several with both male and female pins to fit different applications. This "test light" is great for diagnosing circuits for lighting, solenoids, etc., and it doubles as a connector "drag test" tool. You can use the pins to drag test the pins in the vehicle connectors to check for loose fit. Much easier to use than a stabdard 12 volt test lamp in many cases. My cost was about $3.00 to make this, but I have lost count of the hours of diagnostic time it has saved me.
