Upper timing chain on '05 2.5 5 cylinder Jetta. On the left is the intake cam & adjuster with exhaust cam on the right. Note the lack of teeth (7) that the chain contacts on the intake. The chain stretches and jumps teeth. Ours was off by 2 teeth when we took ...
