iATN® BREAKS 1 MILLION FORUM MESSAGE MARK

Brea, CA — The number of messages posted in forums on the International Automotive Technicians’ Network (iATN®) recently broke the 1 million mark. iATN currently has 20 different topic-specific forums on its web site, www.iatn.net, to meet the diverse needs of membership that totals nearly 58,000 automotive repair professionals from 150 countries. Topics cover every aspect of the automotive service industry from technical theory and technical tips to shop management and industry issues.

Eleven years ago, we didn’t know what to expect when we launched the first three web forums on iATN. At the time, the web was in its infancy, and email was the tried-and-true best method of exchanging information - and still plays a huge role for iATN today through the TechHelp system,” said Brent Black, iATN founder and president. “The number of forum messages is truly staggering and is the direct result of iATN members sharing their time and knowledge on the network,” said Black.

Forum messages are archived in the fully searchable iATN Knowledge Base. The Knowledge Base also has the FIX Database, a Waveform Library and TechNight Transcripts, for a total of more than 2 million items.

The iATN forums are organized in Technical, Non-Technical and Corporate categories. Technical forums are: Air Conditioning (A/C), HD/Fleet, Technical Discussion, Technical Theory, Technical Tips, Tool & Equipment, and Transmissions. The Non-Technical forums are: Classifieds, Educators, Emissions, iATN Development, iATN Meetings & Events, Industry Events, Industry Issues, Open Discussion, PC Users,  RPM, and Shop Management. The two Corporate forums are Garage Operator Users Group and Snap-On's Handheld Users Group.

The iATN Mission of Excellence: To promote the continued growth, success and image of the professional automotive technician by providing a forum for the exchange of knowledge and the promotion of education, professionalism and integrity.
