Anyone know of the "purple" oil. In the mid 50's I saw a lot of Olds' with clattering lifters. We would change the oil using Royal Triton and all the noise would go away. Is the purple oil still around? Phillips 66? My boss (at the time) would not use anything... Login to read more.
