04 Hemi 5.7 - Zero compression on (1) cylinder
Posted to Technical Discussion Forum on 8/10/2016 33 Replies

Like the title says, zero compression on #6 on a 04 Ram 1500. Customer states: broke valve spring, pulled head & sent to machine shop (same one we use) for repair. Small valve impression "dink" on dome. Walls look pretty good. Re-assembled, and no compression on #6.

O.K. - now we have the truck. We checked compression, spark, etc... Push rods do move. Assumed it was in valve train since we have 0.0 psi compression. R&r head & verify what we were told previously- valves look good & well seated. Tried static leak test w/water in either port & combustion chamber - no leaks.

The push rods are radically different lengths, so swapping them seems impossible.

Ideas anyone?
