Customers need help all the time; that's usually why they come to us. What matters is the type and quality of the help that we offer, and how much they are willing to accept.

A ten-year-old Suburban came in last week for an inspection. It defaulted straight through to TSI, and proceeded to blink its MIL at me through most of the 2500 rpm test. I finished the test and passed the MIL functional per SCIP 1.5.1, fully expecting it to fail for DTCs or incomplete monitors. It didn't, and commenting about the MIL on the passing VIR was not sufficiently convincing to the vehicle owner. She drove off, satisfied with her certificate, and tapped one more nail into my FuPR coffin.
